Autumn is, historically speaking, peak Horse Girl Aesthetic season. Whether you prefer the classic knee-high riding boots, cinched blazers and sleek leggings characteristic of a posh English equestrian, or prefer to lean into the cowboy boots, neckerchiefs and bootcut jeans of a western rider, fall has a lot to offer. But specifically for 2025, it seems everyone wants to channel the horse girl vibes, giving us so many different ways to proudly rock the trend.
Just last month, Brandon Maxwell’s 10th anniversary runway showed models wearing cow print jackets with preppy checkered skirts and bolo ties. And at Copenhagen Fashion Week, both MKDT The Garment both leaned hard into true equestrian staples like riding boots and high-collar blouses. And that’s on top of the public’s months-long obsession with all things cowboy glam inspired by Beyoncé and her Cowboy Carter concert tour. We’ve even seen a rise in western theme TV shows, including Yellowstone, Untamed, Godless and 1883. Heck, even cow spots are having a rare moment in the spotlight as the animal print du jour.

So, to my fellow horse girls, both those who’ve proudly worn their “Clip Clop and You Don’t Stop” T-shirts since middle school and those, like me, who are only now willing to admit The Horse Whisperer was our favorite movie as a child (and also as an adult), the only question that remains is this: What’s the best way to style the Horse Girl Aesthetic for fall 2025? 1. Aqua Horse Print Cardigan

I’ve been on the hunt for a cow print jacket for ages now, and this Bernardo design checks all my boxes and then some. The faux fur is soft and lovely, not too heavy nor too light, and each one has a unique spot pattern making it feel far more luxe. As for sizing, I’d say it does fit true to size but if you’re between two I’d definitely opt for the larger to ensure you have enough room to comfortably layer underneath.
