Meghan Markle has reached for them—now, so has Sophie, the Duchess of Edinburgh. On a royal visit to the Cornbury House Horse Trials this week, Sophie met with some of Britain’s leading riders and handed out prizes, all while dressed to impress in a pair of faux leather pants. Sophie’s pair of choice? The Luciana Straight Pants ($365) from Max Mara. Even better news, they’re still in stock.

Before you write off the idea of investing in a pair of faux leather pants, let me speak from personal experience—it’s one of the most versatile items in my closet. Sophie wore hers with a button-down and a blazer, but you could pair them with a blouse (hello, like her recent wine-colored option from Frame), a sweater, even a simple white T-shirt. So chic.

Another detail that’s unique is that they tend to be quite flattering—the material pinches and tucks in all the right places, giving structure, but also comfort. To be clear, I haven’t tested Sophie’s exact Max Mara style, but they seem to offer similar attributes to other pairs I’ve worn. (Hers also come with pockets and are machine-washable—a double win.)

Disclaimer: The Max Mara style is still in stock in a few places, but sizes are selling out quick so snag them now. They’re such a quintessential fall item, you won’t regret it.
