Honestly, I've long just given up on stuffing my pets in coats after having them squeal and squirm in discomfort, or in the case of my current dog, immediately do his business because he's wearing warm tight clothing. But the lightweight cashmere Quince Mongolian cashmere cable-knit dog sweater ($50) has changed my mind, and I'm nominating this little affordable-luxe item the pet gift of the year.
First off, it's made of 100 percent Mongolian cashmere, just like Quince's famous sweaters for humans, and has a fine cable-knit pattern that looks like something out of a Ralph Lauren Christmas catalog. The neck isn't too tightly sewn, so it's not restrictive, and the ribbed leg openings, too, are relaxed enough that they aren't pulling too snuggly across your dog's withers (aka shoulder blades).
