Even in less crazy times (read: pre-Covid-19), we would do our very best to stay organized, only to have the holidays creep up on us. And this year? Forget it. Fortunately, Amazon is here to help us stay on top of our kid’s wish list with their picks for the best toys of 2020. Ranging in age and price, the e-commerce giant has released its Toys to Love list that includes STEM activities, collectibles and games for the whole family. Here are some of our favorite picks to add to your shopping cart ASAP.

The Best Educational Toys for Your Mensa Member in Training

1. Hot Wheels Criss Cross Crash Motorized Track Set (ages 5+)

Got a kid with a need for speed? This super fun race track boasts multiple intersections, loops and hairpin turns, plus a huge crash zone. It also comes with a Hot Wheels car. So yeah, your little racer will be obsessed.

2. Animatronic Baby Yoda (ages 4+)

With over 25 sound and motion combinations (including giggles, babbles and sleeping), this Mandalorian toy is both adorable and fun. Your kid will love patting The Child (AKA Baby Yoda) three times on its head to activate The Force (i.e., raising its arm, closing its eyes and sighing) and laying it to rest for a “Force Nap.” Hey, maybe this one will keep your kid occupied so that parents can take a little nap, too.

3. Nerf Fortnite Ts-r Blaster & Llama Targets (ages 8+)

So your kid can’t stop playing Fortnite and you wish he would go outside and play outside once in a while... Enter this Fortnite-inspired blaster that includes three free-standing llama targets and eight darts. No batteries required.

4. Melissa And Doug Scoop And Serve Ice Cream Counter (ages 3+)

The coolest feature of this 28-piece wooden ice cream station? Definitely the way the scoops of ice cream easily snap into the scooper so your kid can lift, stack and release the scoops to make customized cones. We’ll take a chocolate and vanilla combo with sprinkles, please.

5. Pj Masks Transforming 2-in-1 Mobile Hq (ages 3+)

Is Luna Girl causing mischief yet again? Time for your kid to be a hero with a little help from the PJ Masks. Watch as the nighttime crime-fighters’ headquarters transform into the PJ Seeker, so the crew can race off into the night to defeat baddies. With multiple levels and ways to play, this one’s a must-have for fans of the show.

6. National Geographic Earth Science Kit (ages 8+)

Young scientists will love this kit that comes with over 15 scientific experiments, including growing a real crystal, making a volcano erupt and generating a whirling water tornado.

7. Dyson Ball Vacuum (ages 3+)

A gift for your kid and for you, this toy replica of the Dyson ball has working suction that really picks up small items (like fluff and crumbs).

8. L.o.l. Surprise! Present Surprise Doll With 8 Surprises (ages 4+)

It was the biggest toy of the season last year and it looks like the L.O.L. doll is going to be just as popular this year. This one comes with eight surprises, new characters dressed up for a party and themed accessories. We’ll be honest, we don’t really see the appeal of these mini dolls but hey, at least this one’s already wrapped up for you.
