There’s a new show topping the charts on Prime Video and if you haven’t heard of it yet, let me introduce you to We Were Liars. Based on the best-selling YA novel by E. Lockhart, the series follows a girl named Cadence as she tries to uncover the truth behind a mysterious accident—one that rocked her close-knit group of friends (aka “the Liars”) and her complicated, seemingly perfect family. There’s romance, secrets, family drama and a whole lot of emotional twists.

The cast features up-and-coming names like Emily Alyn Lind, Shubham Maheshwari and Joseph Zada. At first, I didn’t immediately recognize the actors by name—but the moment Emily Alyn Lind showed up on screen, I had one of those “Wait… I know her from somewhere” moments. And sure enough, I did.

Turns out, Emily has been acting since she was a kid, and she’s got quite the résumé. She’s appeared in Doctor Sleep (2019), The Secret Life of Bees (2008), and Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire (2024).

On TV, she’s had roles in everything from Criminal Minds to Code Black and she also starred in the Gossip Girl reboot on HBO Max as Audrey, a wealthy private school student living in her mom’s chic Upper East Side pied-à-terre.

But what really jogged my memory? She played young Emily Thorne in Revenge. Yes, the early 2010s drama that aired on ABC and is absolutely on my “rewatch every year” list.

The series starred Emily VanCamp as a wealthy young woman returning to the Hamptons to take down the families that destroyed hers. Lind portrayed the younger version of the main character in flashback scenes—and now it all makes sense.

Also, can we talk about this for a second? I just realized she’s got the whole rich girl with a secret vibe down to a science—We Were Liars, Gossip Girl, Revenge… it’s kind of her niche and she totally nails it every time.

Now I’m tempted to rewatch Revenge (again) and I’ll definitely be keeping an eye on what Emily does next. She's clearly just getting started.
