Looks like Carmen “Carmy” Berzatto and the rest of “The Original Beef” crew will be returning to the kitchen because the popular FX series The Bear has been renewed for season three.

The network announced the news on the official Instagram account dedicated to the show. Along with a montage video that features one of the many heart-pounding kitchen scenes, the caption read, “Who wants another round? FX’s The Bear is returning for a third season. Only on @Hulu. #TheBearFX.”

Ever since The Bear season two premiered on June 22, 2023, on Hulu, fans have been ~~impatiently~~ patiently waiting for a new update on the show. And now, that time has come.

Now that we know The Bear season three has been given the green light, we can’t help but ask: What’s going to happen next in the upcoming installment? Who’s going to be in the cast? When is the next season coming out?

Here’s everything we know about The Bear season three, including the plot, cast, release date, trailers and more.

1. What Will Happen in ‘The Bear’ Season Three?

While The Bear season two finale left things pretty open-ended, it’s safe to say that the third installment will answer some burning questions as well as explain some evident plot holes. But, there’s also room for brand-new storylines as well.

Before season three was announced, The Bear star Lionel Boyce (aka Marcus) sat down for an exclusive interview with Distractify back in June and shared a few thoughts on the future installment.

“I would like to see [Marcus] go through anything as long as we get a season three,” the actor jokingly told the publication, adding, “I feel the same way as I did after season one, where it finished and I was like, ‘I truly don’t know where the show’s gonna go.’”

2. When Is ‘The Bear’ Season Three Set to Premiere?

At the moment, FX has not confirmed a release date for season three. But now that the SAG-AFTRA strike is over, that could change at any moment.

But, what we do know? Season three of The Bear is officially on the way. In addition to the news being shared on social media, Nick Grad (FX Entertainment President) also released a public statement following the announcement, which read: “The Bear, which wowed audiences in its first season only to achieve even greater heights in season two, has become a cultural phenomenon.”

He added, “We’re so proud to partner with Christopher Storer, Joanna Calo, Josh Senior, and the rest of the creative team, as well as the brilliant cast led by Jeremy Allen White, Ayo Edebiri and Ebon Moss-Bachrach. What they and the crew have done is truly remarkable, and we and our partners at Hulu join fans in looking forward to the next chapter in the story of The Bear.”

It’s no surprise that The Bear has been renewed for a third season. In addition to receiving an impressive 13 Emmy nominations for its first season, the show broke a major streaming record just days after the second season premiere. Per Deadline, season two of The Bear became the most-watched premiere of any FX series on Hulu, with a 70 percent increase in total hours viewed as compared to the previous season after the first four days on the platform.

3. Who Is Returning for ‘The Bear’ Season Three?

The cast for The Bear season three will most likely include:

Jeremy Allen White as Carmen “Carmy” Berzatto
Ayo Edebiri as Sydney Adamu
Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Richie Jerimovich
Abby Elliott as Natalie “Sugar” Berzatto
Matty Matheson as Niel Fak
Jon Bernthal as Mike
Lionel Boyce as Marcus
Liza Colón-Zayas as Tina Marrero

But what about new cast members? While sitting down with The Wrap in July, star Jeremy Allen White revealed the one actor he would love to have join the cast of season three: Sam Rockwell. (Obviously, the 55-year-old actor has appeared in a number of hit films like Lawn Dogs, The Green Mile and Galaxy Quest.)

White told the outlet, “You know who I love, and I’ve always loved so much, is Sam Rockwell, and I feel like he would fit somehow into the world.”

The actor added, “Like a buddy of [Richie, played by Ebon Moss-Bacharach] or something. You know, I feel like he would really, I don’t know. I feel like there’s room for him in the Bear universe.”

4. Is There a Trailer?

While there isn’t technically a trailer yet for The Bear season three, there is of course the season three announcement video (above) that was shared on social media. Hey, we’ll take what we can get.
