Looking for a good new thriller series to binge-watch? Look no further than The Are Murders, which is a new addition on Netflix and already rising in popularity. Currently sitting at the fourth spot on the top ten most watched list, the series stars Carla Sehn, Kardo Razzazi and Charlie Gustafsson, and chronicles a Stockholm detective that heads to a Swedish ski resort for what she thinks is a little rest and relaxation after being placed under internal investigation. As it turns out, relaxing isn’t going to happen, as a young girl disappears during her stay, leading to the suspended investigator doing exactly what she’s not supposed to be doing—working.
As you can imagine, The Are Murders is a show packed with crime, suspense and plot twists, which is everything you can ask for in a thriller, and the ratings are also off to a solid start with a 71 percent on Rotten Tomatoes, and a 6.7 on IMDB. It gets even more fascinating when you realize it is based on Viveca Sten's popular novel series of the same title. Now, I understand some may not like on-screen adaptations of books, plays, etc., but I always think it’s interesting to do a comparison between the two to see how/if they differ.
