If you’re in the mood for a comforting romantic drama with just the right amount of small-town charm and emotional twists, Sullivan’s Crossing might be your next binge-worthy obsession. Oh—and did I mention it stars early-2000s heartthrob Chad Michael Murray? Yep. Say no more.

Based on the bestselling book series by Robyn Carr (who also brought us Virgin River), Sullivan’s Crossing follows Maggie Sullivan (played by Morgan Kohan), a top-tier neurosurgeon from Boston whose life is thrown into chaos after a legal scandal sends her packing. She retreats to her rural hometown of Sullivan’s Crossing in Nova Scotia, where she’s forced to reconnect with her estranged father, Sully (played by Gilmore Girls alum Scott Patterson).

And then there’s Cal Jones (Chad Michael Murray), a handsome newcomer with no personal baggage but a whole lot of intrigue. It’s only a matter of time before sparks start flying.

The Canadian series originally premiered on CTV in March 2023, with season two dropping in April 2024. Thanks to a co-production deal with The CW, it’s been making waves in the U.S. and now the first two seasons are officially streaming on Netflix as of July 8. Just one day later, it’s already climbed to number two on Netflix’s Top 10.

Can’t get enough? Season three premiered on CTV in April 2025 and hit The CW in May—so once you’re caught up, you’ll know where to go.

Oh, and if you need more convincing: it has an 87% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes and it’s rated PG, making it perfect for a feel-good family night in. Cozy blankets and wine optional—but highly encouraged.
