Netflix Drops New ‘Stranger Things’ Season 4 Teaser & It Features the Return of a Not-So-Beloved Character

Stranger Things season four isn’t holding anything back, and this brand-new teaser is proof.

Netflix just released a sneak peek at the upcoming season, which features the return of Eleven’s “Papa”, Dr. Martin Brenner.

The flashback video takes place in the Hawkins National Laboratory, where Dr. Brenner (Matthew Modine) has been kidnapping children—like Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown)—and then conducting unethical experiments on them.

The clip shows a montage of scenes, featuring kids wearing hospital gowns while playing in a game room. They all have buzzed hair, just like Eleven did in season one.

When Dr. Brenner walks in, he says, “Today, I have something very special planned for you.” Right on cue, he turns to Eleven (who’s using her powers to eavesdrop) and adds, “Eleven, are you listening?”

Stranger Things season four will pick up right where we left off in the previous installment, when Jim Hopper (David Harbour) destroyed the underground bunker and, as a result, became a Russian hostage.

The new episodes will feature several familiar faces, including Brown, Modine, Harbour, Winona Ryder, Finn Wolfhard, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Noah Schnapp, Charlie Heaton and Natalia Dyer. It will also star a few newcomers, like Robert Englund, Jamie Campbell Bower, Tom Wlaschiha, Nikola Djuricko, Joseph Quinn, Sherman Augustus and Mason Dye.

Unfortunately, Netflix hasn’t released an official premiere date for Stranger Things season four. But when it does, you can bet we’ll be ready.
