In case you haven’t heard, Jurassic World: Rebirth is a hit.

The film opened with a $322 million weekend at the box office, which means the movie's star, Scarlett Johansson, has officially earned the title of Hollywood's highest-grossing lead actor, according to The Numbers. Recent data shows Johansson jumping from third place to the number one spot, surpassing longtime Marvel costars Robert Downey Jr. and Samuel L. Jackson in the process. Jackson previously held the title with a lifetime career box office gross of $14.6 billion in films where he was the lead or lead ensemble member. Downey was right behind him with $14.3 billion, but now the crown has been passed to Johansson, who is at $14.9 billion and climbing.

Johansson, who began her career as a child in the 1990s, has plenty of box office hits in her catalog, including: Avengers: Endgame ($2.7 billion), Avengers: Age of Ultron ($1.4 billion), The Jungle Book ($951 million) and Iron Man 2 ($621 million). As for her latest, Jurassic World: Rebirth is looking at a strong second weekend, though it will have some competition with the premiere of James Gunn’s highly anticipated Superman.

In my review of the film, I wrote, "The casting is top-tier, as you’ve got Scarlett Johansson, Jonathan Bailey and Mahershala Ali, who pack the ultimate punch as far as chemistry goes. Then there is the tense storyline and jam-packed action that never leaves you with a dull moment."

"Granted, I saw it in 4DX, but the visuals are stunning. The seats move and jump during the action scenes, which makes it feel like you’re right there with the characters. The dinosaurs also feel incredibly real, which is a testament to Gareth Edwards, who directs the film with intimacy and purpose."
