Totally understandable

It’s finally official—Two months after its April 17 debut on Netflix Ransom Canyon has been renewed for a second season, and honestly? About time.

After its release, the romantic western quickly wrangled its way to the top of the platform’s Top 10 list—and for good reason. It’s got plot twists, emotional drama, sweeping Texas landscapes and the kind of onscreen chemistry between Josh Duhamel and Minka Kelly that has you kicking your feet under a weighted blanket.

Season 1 introduced us to the intersecting lives of three ranching families in the fictional town of Ransom Canyon, Texas. There’s love, loss, land wars and just enough small-town secrets to keep you glued to your screen. When a mysterious cowboy shows up in town (because of course he does), he stirs up the past and the stakes for everyone involved. At the center of it all? The slow-burn romance between stoic rancher Staten Kirkland (Duhamel) and local powerhouse Quinn O’Grady (Kelly), trying to hold their community together while fighting their own personal battles.

And while I won’t spoil anything, just know that season 1 ends with some serious cliffhangers. So yes, the renewal news is very welcome. As for how fans felt about the news? They spiraled.

Comments on the Instagram announcement poured in like, “Oh helllll yeah! We need at least 10 seasons of this show!!!,” “I can’t wait!!! The entire cast is the best!,” “Music to my ears!!” and “We are SAT baby!!” One fan summed it up perfectly, writing, “Thank goodness because I can’t stop thinking about this show!!!”

Netflix hasn’t released a premiere date for season two just yet, but season one had 10 episodes—so we’re guessing they’ll stick with that format.

Until then? Catch up or rewatch for the drama. Ransom Canyon season one is streaming now on Netflix.
