This Steamy New Josh Duhamel Show Just Hit #1 on Netflix—and the Trailer Alone Is Making Me Sweat

Not to toot our own horn, but PureWow editors know a good show when we see one. Sometimes, even just by watching the trailer. From small-town romances like Virgin River to heartstopping crime thrillers like The Glass Dome, name any genre, and we've got a binge-watchable pick for you—which brings me to Netflix's new hit show.

Earlier this month, I raved about steamy new romance drama, Ransom Canyon, where Yellowstone meets Virgin River (and a bit of Friday Night Lights). Based on a book series from author Jodi Thomas, the recently released Western drama is currently the #1 series on Netflix, with Josh Duhamel as its leading man. The show hit the platform on April 17, and fans are already asking for a season 2. Here's why.

The show follows Texas Hill Country native, Staten Kirkand (Duhamel) as he navigates life as a recent widower while simultaneously trying to protect the land that is rightfully his. And it wouldn't be a Netflix show without a little romance (and drama).

Alongside Duhamel, stars Minka Kelly as Quinn O'Grady, who recently left her life in the Big Apple as a concert pianist to return to the small town to run the local dance studio. Kirkland and O'Grady seemingly have a complicated past that messily unfolds throughout the show. Tense love triangles aside, this show is as Western as it gets, with brooding cowboys, lots of horse-riding and enough Southern charm to make your head spin.

Staten and Quinn's love story isn't the only one to watch in the series. From a hush-hush relationship between the school's bad boy and the head cheerleader to a flirty situationship between the dancehall's manager (also Quinn's best friend) and a new-to-town drifting cowboy, there are plenty of relationships to keep you on the edge of your seat as you binge-watch.
