PureWow Pick for the Ultimate #MCM: M'Baku

Just two words: Winston Duke. The actor made his comeback as fan favorite M'Baku in the Black Panther sequel, Wakanda Forever, and he did not disappoint, thanks in part to his charisma, his humor and, yes, his Herculean arms. The follow-up film boasts plenty of deep themes and great action sequences, but M'Baku steals practically every scene he's in, whether he's cutting through the intense moments with comical one-liners or giving wise counsel to protect his nation. — Nakeisha Campbell, PureWow’s Associate Editor of Entertainment & News

PureWow Pick for Best Mariah Moment: Her ‘Crown’ Reaction

From “I don't know her”-gate to her infamous workout in heels, Mariah Carey understands how to make a headline. And this week's best Mariah moment goes to a post she just shared on her IG page in response to the premiere of The Crown season five. We'll let you watch the video (above) for yourself, where it's hard to tell if Mariah added the tiara for the vid or if it's just standard daywear. Either way, we're happy it's officially Mariah season (AKA the Christmas season) and we'll be seeing plenty more of her on social media and hearing our favorite holiday hit being played in every store we walk into. — Philip Mutz, PureWow’s VP of News & Entertainment

PureWow Pick for Red Carpet Scene-Stealer: T-Swift

Taylor Swift certainly never goes out of style, and while the “Anti-Hero” songstress loves surprising us, her ’fit for the 2022 MTV Europe Music Awards genuinely brought our jaws to the floor. Over the years, Swift has had plenty of iconic fashion moments, from that floral Oscar de la Renta Grammys dress to her dripping-with-diamonds look at the VMAs back in August. But, this David Koma ensemble, which looked like a vintage '50s swimsuit morphed with an emerald chain link fence, was one of her most daring ensembles yet. We definitely need to calm down after seeing this showstopper.  — Joel Calfee, Assistant Editor of News & Entertainment

PureWow Pick for Best Book-to-Film Adaptation: ‘Where the Crawdads Sing’

Fans of the book have been looking forward to this adaptation, and it didn’t disappoint. The film—which came out earlier this year but only just hit Netflix—illustrates the story in ways the book couldn’t do. Daisy Edgar-Jones steals the show as adult Kya, while Jojo Regina plays the younger version of the character (and proves she has a long career ahead of her). Oh, and did we mention that Reese Witherspoon served as an executive producer?  — Greta Heggeness, PureWow’s Senior Editor of News & Entertainment

PureWow Pick for Best Confession: Millie Bobby Brown and the Bad Kisser

We don’t know what’s worse: hearing Millie Bobby Brown reveal her Stranger Things co-star, Finn Wolfhard, is a bad kisser or her confirming that he hasn’t gotten any better. Either way, her latest confession on the Vanity Fair YouTube series certainly surprised us. Now, we just can’t stop worrying about Finn’s reaction once he sees the video. Time to start preparing that explanation text now, Millie. — Karelle McKay, Assistant Editor of News & Entertainment
