Meet Peyton List's Boyfriend & 'Cobra Kai' Co-Star, Jacob Bertrand

Fun fact: Both List and Bertrand are Disney alums. List starred in the Disney Channel series, Jessie, while Bertrand starred in Disney XD's Kirby Buckets. However, the couple first met in 2015, when they collaborated on the Disney Channel original movie, The Swap.

After working together on the movie, the two didn't start dating right away, but they maintained a close friendship. List even revealed in a previous interview with PureWow that Bertrand was one of the reasons she wanted to join the cast of Cobra Kai.

List told us, "My friend, Jacob, I did work with him before, and he was on Cobra Kai, so I wanted to work with him again. I didn't watch the show until I got it...I was a bad friend. I watched the first season, and I was like, 'Wait, I cannot wait to join this show.'" 

While chatting with TMZ about their relationship in March 2022, Bertrand said, "We've been friends for a while. I was actually tight friends with her brother Spencer, so that was kinda awkward to be like, 'Hey man, I like your sister.' But yeah, we had fun on set and then hung out off-set."

When TMZ caught up with Bertrand in March 2022, he confirmed that they had been "dating for a while." However, he didn't share the details of when their friendship turned romantic. He quipped, "I've never dated anyone I've worked with before. This is almost trial by fire."

In an interview with People in 2022, Bertrand called List his "muse." He explained, "I would say she's the inspiration for a lot of the things that I do. She's the person who was really pushing me to direct and write. She, probably, was honestly just tired of me telling her all of my ideas and was like, 'Well then just do it!' But yeah, she's the person that really gets me going."

The actor also gushed about her strong work ethic, adding, "She's also just the hardest working person on planet Earth, so it's kind of hard not to catch a little bit of that spunk that she's got. But, she's the most supportive, awesome person ever. She gives me a lot of confidence to try to be as creative as I can be."

Additionally, List has opened up to Page Six about the relationship. She said, "It's been so fun. I feel like we're all best friends and getting to have, like, a person that I really love in the same city—I'm just so grateful for him. He's the nicest person. But it is weird [on set], because I feel like we're with everyone but each other on the show."
