You Need to See These Bloopers From Netflix’s ‘Outer Banks’

If you’ve ever wondered what really happens when the cameras stop rolling on the set of Outer Banks, you’re in luck.

Netflix just released an all-new video featuring—drumroll, please—season two bloopers. Not only does the clip show rare behind-the-scenes footage, but it also reveals a few secrets (including how the crew maintained John B.’s sweaty appearance).

The video begins with a never-before-seen glimpse of the cast holding the slate prior to each scene. Although Madison Bailey (Kiara) enjoys doing it, Rudy Pankow (JJ) can’t seem to get it right. “A little dicey on the one,” a member of the crew says. “He’s from Alaska.”

The clip goes on to show an assortment of bloopers, including tongue ties, car alarms, boat accidents, dysfunctional umbrellas and flubbed lines. “You know what?” Chase Stokes (John B.) says before breaking character, “I don’t know my line.” Oh, and how can we forget about Madelyn Cline (Sarah), who takes a major tumble off her bike?

If you’ve ever wondered why the Outer Banks cast looks so, er, sticky in season two, you should know that the crew frequently sprayed the actors with water to replicate the heat and humidity of the Bahamas. “Spritzing up,” someone says. Another person adds, “We’re spritzing.”

The video concludes with a montage of the cast making silly faces, while a voiceover says, “They shouldn’t be hard to miss. They’re five extraordinarily good-looking young adults.”

Outer Banks originally premiered in 2020, followed by season two in July 2021. The story follows a group of teenagers (dubbed the “Pogues”) living in the Outer Banks of North Carolina as they embark on a dangerous treasure hunt. The first season concludes with John B. fleeing his hometown alongside Sarah Cameron after her family framed him for murder. In season two, the pair head to Nassau, where Sarah’s dad, Ward (Charles Esten), is hiding the highly coveted treasure.

Keep the BTS footage coming, Netflix.
