This Camera Footage of Nicole Kidman Hugging Sandra Bullock Lives Rent-Free in My Mind

The cameras for Practical Magic 2 are officially rolling, and fans have already gotten a sneak peek of some behind-the-scenes action. We also got a sweet glimpse of the film’s stars, Nicole Kidman and Sandra Bullock, giving each other a warm embrace on the set.

Bullock and Kidman are, of course, reprising their original 1998 roles as Gilly and Sally Owens, and on the first day of the shoot, Kidman posted a heartwarming video on Instagram with the caption, “The witches are back. Owens sisters’ first day on set! #PracticalMagic.”

In the clip, Kidman could be seen wearing her character’s infamous red hair and a matching maxi dress, as the pair filmed a scene outside of a cemetery. Bullock was spotted wearing a white and brown dress with her hair in a half-up-half-down hairstyle.

The comment section was equally sweet, with fans writing, “Over the moon on this!” and “This feels like Christmas! This is the best present I’ve ever gotten!”

Aside from starring in the film, Bullock and Kidman are also serving as producers, alongside Denise Di Novi, who produced the 1998 movie. Scheduled for a September 18, 2026, release, very little is known about the storyline at this point, aside from the IMDB synopsis, which reads, “A multi-generational family of witches, cursed to be loveless for centuries, attempts to break the spell by confronting dark secrets and sacrificing for each other.”

Some of the additional stars returning include Dianne Wiest (Edward Scissorhands) and Stockard Channing (Grease), who will reprise their roles as Aunt Jet and Aunt Franny. New cast members will include Joey King (The Kissing Booth), Xolo Maridueña (Blue Beetle), Maisie Williams (Game of Thrones) and Lee Pace (Foundation).
