Was Martha Stewart Ever Married?
Martha Stewart might be single now, but the lifestyle maven and prodigious baker was once a married woman. Martha Stewart’s earliest relationship and only marriage was to her high school sweetheart, Andrew Stewart, who she started dating in 1960 and married one year later. The couple welcomed a daughter, Alexis Stewart, in 1965.
However, it became apparent that there was trouble in paradise when the couple separated in 1987; they went on to have a rancorous divorce in 1990. In the 2024 Netflix documentary Martha, Stewart cited her ex-husband’s infidelity as the primary cause of the rift in their marriage. And in a 2024 interview with People magazine, Stewart shared that she has not spoken to Andrew in over 20 years.
Who Else Has Martha Stewart Dated?
Following her divorce, Stewart started dating actor Anthony Hopkins. The relationship lasted roughly a year (1990-1991) before Stewart broke it off. By far, Stewart’s longest and most public relationship after her divorce was with the billionaire Microsoft Office creator, Charles Simonyi. They began dating in 1993 and remained a couple for 15 years until he dropped a bomb in 2008, telling her he was leaving her for a younger woman.
