In case you haven’t heard, a new buzzy show is currently trending on Netflix that you need to start binge-watching ASAP (seriously, it's such a fun watch).

The show in question? The Hunting Wives, a new series based on a novel of the same title by May Cobb that follows a former magazine editor (Brittany Snow) who falls into a wealthy socialite's circle full of housewives with *tons* of hidden secrets. Also starring other notable actors like Paul Teal, Chrissy Metz and Jamie Ray Newman, there is one star, in particular, that looked incredibly familiar: Malin Akerman. In The Hunting Wives, Akerman plays a billionaire’s wife who has worked her way up to the top of the socialite food chain, covering her dirty secrets in the process as her husband campaigns to be governor. And if you were also wondering why Akerman looks so familiar, there's a very good reason.

Aside from her new starring role, the 47-year-old actress has appeared in several critically-praised films, including: 27 Dresses (2008), The Proposal (2009) and Watchmen (2009), where she earned a Saturn Award nomination for “Best Supporting Actress” for her role as Silk Spectre II. You also might recognize her from the 2015 comedy horror film The Final Girls, which subsequently earned her a Fangoria Chainsaw Award nomination.

Akerman has also appeared in the critically acclaimed dramas I'll See You in My Dreams (2015) and To the Stars (2019), the ABC sitcom Trophy Wife (2013), where she, again, earned widespread praise for her performance. And she also had main roles on the Adult Swim comedy series Childrens Hospital (2010) and the Showtime drama series Billions (2016). Oh, and if you're as obsessed with HBO's The Comeback as our VP of News and Entertainment, Philip Mutz, she also plays a starring role there too.

So, yes, Akerman has quite the resume on her, and I’m so glad I finally figured out what else I’ve seen her in.
