"Jury Duty" Is Back with Crazy New Characters and a New 'Real Person'—Here, My Honest Season 2 Review

It's so funny, you guys

Prime Video shocked the streaming world in 2023 with its not-quite-reality reality show, Jury Duty. A cast of wild characters (played by not-so-recognizable actors), plus James Marsden (played by James Marsden), pretended to be part of a jury. Their actual goal? To fool non-actor Ronald into believing he was participating in a real-deal trial, all while the cameras were rolling.

Jury Duty was a massive hit for Prime Video and became a huge part of the zeitgeist. Fast forward three years, and Jury Duty is back for season two—only this time, there's no jury involved.

Jury Duty Presents: Company Retreat arrives on Prime Video March 20, and it stars all-new actors trying to fool an all-new 'real guy', Anthony. Good news: Season two is just as funny (and off the walls) as season one. In fact, it's one of my five favorite shows of March.

This season, in addition to all the new faces, we've also got an entirely new scenario: a company retreat. Introducing Rockin' Grandmas Hot Sauce (a fake company), where Anthony has just been hired as an intern to help execute the annual retreat. They tell him that a documentary crew is filming them, providing an easy excuse for why cameras are following him around and why producers are asking for his honest take on what's going on.

Anthony is the perfect choice for our new lead. He is so earnest as the hot sauce company's newest employee. Watching him laugh—or try not to laugh—at the antics of his co-workers is so enjoyable.

And speaking of his co-workers, I honestly don't know how they all keep a straight face. These actors deliver some of the cringiest (and funniest) lines, as they're put into actually insane scenarios. (Just wait until 50 bags of Cool Ranch Doritos go missing...) From the bumbling boss's son to the anxious activities manager, the ensemble is solid, even if I do miss James Marsden.

Needless to say, I'm a huge fan of season two. The show is absolutely must-watch TV. It's fun, light-hearted and surprisingly heartwarming. I'm fully rooting for Anthony (the way I rooted for Ronald last time around). Let's just hope he's not mad when he finds out the truth...

Episodes 1-3 of Jury Duty Presents: Company Retreat arrive on Prime Video March 20, episodes 4-5 drop March 27 and episodes 6-8 premiere April 3.
