HBO Max is blessing us with the one thing that was missing (excluding Samantha) from And Just Like That… season 1: Aidan Shaw (played by John Corbett).
According to Deadline, the 61-year-old actor will reprise his role in the Sex and the City reboot’s second season. Although very few details are known about his involvement, the outlet reported that “Corbett is set for a substantial, multi-episode arc.”
The announcement may surprise some fans because there was some confusion during the first season. It all started when Corbett joked about reprising his role during an interview, but he was kidding. Fans waited all season for an Aidan cameo, but it never came. Luckily, this time seems legit.
And Just Like That… season 2 will further explore the direction of Carrie and Miranda’s love lives. The show’s leading ladies—Sarah Jessica Parker (Carrie), Kristin Davis (Charlotte) and Cynthia Nixon (Miranda)—will return to reprise their roles.
Additionally, newcomers Sara Ramírez, Nicole Ari Parker, Sarita Choudhury and Karen Pittman will also make appearances. Chris Noth (Mr. Big) won't make any more cameos (even in flashback form). Plus, Kim Cattrall will only have a text message cameo.
We don’t know how Aidan will fit into the story line in And Just Like That… season 2. Will he pursue a romantic relationship with Carrie? Or will he and Carrie develop a friendship sans sexual tension? Only time will tell.
