This 12-Minute Short Film Is Now the #4 Movie on Netflix

Looking for a new streaming option that won’t take up two hours of your time? We’ve got you covered.

Introducing If Anything Happens I Love You, a brand-new short film that’s receiving loads of critical acclaim. Although it just premiered a few days ago, it’s already shot up to the number four spot on Netflix’s list of most watched movies. (It’s currently ranked behind The Princess Switch: Switched Again, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2 and The Grinch.)

So, what’s all the hype about? If Anything Happens I Love You is a sentimental animated film that has a ridiculously short runtime of 12 minutes. (Not kidding.) It tells the story of two grieving parents, who are mourning the loss of their young daughter. The tale takes place in the aftermath of a school shooting, making it heartbreakingly relevant.

Please be advised that the movie might trigger an emotional response in some viewers—however, if you can handle the sensitive subject matter, it’s bound to become a conversation starter at your next virtual get-together.

If Anything Happens I Love You was directed and written by Will McCormack (A to Z) and Michael Govier (Space for Rent). McCormack and Govier also served as executive producers alongside Sydney Holland (Amnesiac), Robyn Klein (Rescue Dawn), Jayme Lemons (Enlightened), Peter Morgan (American Sniper), Jeremy Ross (Slinky) and Laura Dern (Big Little Lies). (Yes, that Laura Dern.)
