Say goodbye to the drama flick The Impossible because Netflix just found a new top-ranked film and it’s a must-watch for the whole family.
Cloudy with a Chance of Meatball 2 is currently the second most-watched movie that’s on everyone’s list (or at least on Netflix’s Top 10 list). The animated film is joining a long line of surprising movies that reached the prime spot and FYI, it’s ranking ahead of popular holiday films like Jingle Jangle, The Grinch and Hometown Holiday.
The 2013 film follows where the first movie (AKA Cloudy with a Chance of Meatball) left off. Inventor Flint Lockwood attempts to save the world (yet again) from food monsters (or in this case ‘foodimals’). He sets out on a mission, along with his friends, to fight against these creations and find his machine once and for all.
Netflix categorized the second movie as 'goofy,’ so be prepared for a fun, lighthearted silly film to make you smile and laugh. Plus, the cast lineup is enough to get us to check it out. It stars Bill Hader (Flint), Anna Faris (Sam), Andy Sandberg (Chicken), Neil Patrick Harris (Steve), Benjamin Bratt (Manny) and James Caan (Tim) as they reprise their roles. In addition to the core voice actors, Terry Crews (Officer Earl) and Kristen Schaal (Barb) are also featured in the animated sequel.
So whether you have a kiddo or not, it’s a great break from the true crime, dramas and rom-coms you’re used to watching.
