1. What Is Elsbeth About?

Elsbeth is a brand-new spin-off of The Good Wife and The Good Fight that’s set to premiere on CBS on February 29 at 10 p.m. New episodes will air every Thursday, so set your DVRs.

The series follows attorney Elsbeth Tascioni as she leaves Chicago to pursue a new investigative career in New York. She works alongside the NYPD to find and prosecute criminals. (Think of the show as a cross between Suits and Law & Order.)

2. Who’s in the Elsbeth Cast?

Carrie Preston (True Blood) is reprising her role as Elsbeth Tascioni. (The character was originally introduced in The Good Wife.) Other cast members include Wendell Pierce (The Wire) and Carra Patterson (Straight Outta Compton), along with guest stars Jesse Tyler Ferguson (Modern Family), Jane Krakowski (30 Rock), Blair Underwood (L.A. Law), Retta (Good Girls) and Linda Lavin (B Positive).

“We are so thrilled to have such wonderful actors join us in such a diverse assortment of complex and interesting characters on Elsbeth,” said showrunner Jonathan Tolins (according to Variety). “They’re all spectacular and we can’t believe our luck. We hope to keep attracting such high-caliber talent to face off with Carrie Preston, and play with us in New York.”

3. Is There a Trailer?

The first official trailer offers a glimpse of what’s to come in Elsbeth and how she becomes an “outside observer” for the NYPD. At first, law enforcement is skeptical of her involvement. But it doesn’t take long for her to prove her worth. “I have ideas,” she says in the clip, “but no proof.”
