In the age of streaming, it feels like there’s a new show dropping every other day, which also means getting emotionally attached is basically a risk sport at this point. You start a series, get invested in the characters and then you are left quietly wondering if you will ever actually get closure on that cliffhanger. Even when a show makes it to a second season, it still does not feel totally safe from the chopping block. Just look at NBC’s Brilliant Minds, which has officially been cancelled—and fans are in their feelings.
Brilliant Minds is an NBC medical drama centered on Dr. Oliver Wolf, played by Zachary Quinto, an unconventional and brilliant neurologist working at Bronx General Hospital. Alongside his team of young interns, he takes on complicated neurological and psychological cases, often relying on unorthodox methods to reach his patients. The character of Dr. Wolf lives with prosopagnosia, also known as face blindness, a cognitive condition that affects the ability to recognize familiar faces, including sometimes even one’s own reflection.
