Ready your pens and notepads, dear readers, because Elizabeth Zott (Brie Larson) is dropping some serious scientific knowledge in Apple TV+'s Lessons in Chemistry.

On Friday, October 13, the streaming service dropped the first two episodes of the series, which is based on Bonnie Garmus’s bestselling novel of the same name. In less than two days, the show claimed the number two spot on Apple TV+'s Top Chart list, ranking behind The Morning Show and ahead of popular titles like Ted Lasso and Invasion.

Much like the book, Lessons in Chemistry follows the ambitious Zott, who goes from chemist to cooking show host after being fired from her previous job years prior.

In the show's trailer, Zott greets a crowd of spectators. In a matter of seconds, various scenes from the series flash across the scene until we are presented with a single camera shot of the career woman standing in front of a chalkboard with a pencil in her ear, asking the question: “Let’s begin, shall we?”

As a mom, Zott is determined to break the constricting gender norms that heavily define women in this particular period. “I stand proudly with the overlooked war horse of the kitchen,” she says on live television while standing in front of a tasty dish. “Women and potatoes.”

The Captain Marvel actress looks like a completely different person with her curly blonde retro hairstyle and clothes that just scream the 1960s.

Lessons in Chemistry features a talented ensemble cast, including Larson, Rainn Wilson (The Office), Lewis Pullman (Top Gun: Maverick), Aja Naomi King (How to Get Away with Murder) and Kevin Sussman (The Big Bang Theory). Aside from starring in the eight-episode series, the 33-year-old actress also serves as executive producer.

The remaining six episodes will premiere each Friday, with the final episode airing on November 24.

We know we'll be watching tonight.
