Bad News, ‘Bridgerton’ Fans—Season 4 Is Going to Be a While (Like, a Long While)

Any guesses as to who the love story will focus on?

Hear ye, hear ye! The final episodes of Bridgerton season three just dropped but that doesn’t mean fans aren’t already thinking about season four. Well, the good news is, it’s coming. The not-so-good news: It will be about two years.

During a premiere event for part two of the Netflix hit, showrunner Jess Brownell spilled as much tea as she could about when fans can expect another installment.

“We are working to try and put the seasons out more quickly, but they do take eight months to film and then they have to be edited, and then they have to be dubbed into every language,” she explained to The Hollywood Reporter. “And the writing takes a very long time as well, so we’re kind of on a two-year pace, we’re trying to speed up but somewhere in that range.”

Yes, you read that right. Brownell said a “two-year pace,” which means it will be sometime in 2026 that Bridgerton lovers will see the show grace their screens again.

While that may seem like quite a while away, it’s actually on par with the release of previous seasons. Fans were first introduced to the series with season one in 2020, and seasons two and three were released in 2022 and 2024, respectively.

So, now that we know when to expect Bridgerton season four, the next question is: Whose love story will it focus on?

“I have almost slipped up a couple of times so keep asking, and maybe I’ll slip up,” Brownell said when THR inquired about who will lead the next.

“I’m really excited about what we’re writing. We’re towards the end with the writers room season, with the scripts. And I feel like it’s some of my best work and my writers room’s best work. We’ve just really gelled our collaboration, and we’re firing on all cylinders so I can’t wait for fans to see what we have.”

Of course, fans have weighed in about who they would like to see. Perhaps, Eloise Bridgerton or maybe Benedict Bridgerton. Whoever it ends up being, Brownell believes the people will be satisfied.

“I think it’s hard to say. There’s so many different ships,” Brownell said. “I think one of the ships is going to be very, very happy.”

Whenever Bridgerton season four arrives, I can’t wait!
