Victoria Beckham x Augustinus Bader Skincare Review: Original photo of Stephanie Maida/Augustinus Bader products

Professor Augustinus Bader is idolized by skincare obsessives. Victoria Beckham is idolized by, well, everyone. So when the two teamed up on a beauty line, fans of both had high expectations. Speaking as one of them, we were not left disappointed.

I have sung the praises of Augustinus Bader's famous Rich Cream (from $98) many times over. It's a splurge, yes, but one I swear by for helping my combination skin finally feel uniformly nourished and hydrated (no more flaky forehead and dry spots here, y'all!).

But just when I thought it couldn't get any better, I tried combining it with the Victoria Beckham x Augustinus Bader Cell Rejuvenating Illuminator ($80) and Concealer Pen ($68)—and it's been a total game-changer in my beauty routine.

I've tested the trio of products for just over a month now, using them as my three-step routine to prep my skin for everything from weddings to morning meetings. Ahead, my full review.

Step 1: Augustinus Bader The Rich Cream

Augustinus Bader

The Rich Cream has been my go-to moisturizer for a while now. The luscious formula is so creamy I have to pat it onto my face, but somehow it behaves like a much more lightweight product, soaking right into my skin and leaving absolutely no clogged or greasy feeling behind.

Like all of Augustinus Bader's offerings, it's powered by the brand's proprietary, decades-of-research-backed TFC8, a complex of natural amino acids, high-grade vitamins and peptides naturally found in the skin, which together are meant to nourish and protect skin while optimizing cellular renewal.

Since incorporating it into my morning and night routines, my skin has been clearer, bouncier and free from those little fine lines that appear when it gets particularly parched. As I mentioned above, I also experience none of the former flakiness or dark, dry spots that would appear on my forehead and upper cheek area—just an all-around radiance that keeps me coming back for more.

After having become equally obsessed as I am with The Rich Cream, which she was introduced to by her facialist, Melanie Grant, Beckham reached out to Professor Bader to collaborate on a line of products that are "going to also give you a glow and tighten your skin and lift."

Enter: The Cell Rejuvenating Illuminator. Available in three subtly shimmery shades (Pearlescent, Golden and Rose), the product works as a primer and complexion enhancer, meant to bridge the gap between your skincare and makeup lineup.

It's incredibly lightweight and soothing, and, in the Pearlescent shade that I've been using, creates an illuminating, pore-blurring finish that makes my face look (and feel) smooth and dewy, with a sun-reflecting glow.

I've been loving slathering it on my entire face and neck, and, given that I always skip foundation, it's been just the thing to give my visage a finished look sans any cakiness.

But the product doesn't just supply luminosity. Since it's also infused with the TFC8 complex, among other skin-loving ingredients like squalane, ectoin, niacinimide and hyaluronic acid, it doubles as skincare, putting in the work to protect the moisture barrier, firm and tighten. And if my selfies are any proof, it lives up to its promise.

Step 3: Victoria Beckham x Augustinus Bader Concealer Pen

No, I don't use foundation, but I do make the most of a little concealer here and there—especially under my eyes if my lack of sleep the night before starts to show. And guys, the VB x AB Concealer Pen works wonders.

Available in a whopping 19 shades, the nifty pen features a brush tip that releases the product and works as a built-in applicator. All you have to do is click the opposite end to let out more product, then brush it right onto your skin. Personally, I've been using my fingers to blend it, but a sponge or Beauty Blender also works to get the best finish.

I've been using the stuff to conceal any dark circles that appear beneath my peepers, as well as minimize the look of small blemishes that tend to pop up around that time of the month.

I find the formula to be luxe and velvety, with a medium coverage that helps to brighten the area without leaving a thick, glaring slick that stands out among the rest of my bare skin. Plus, it lasts all day and never starts to pill (phew!).

The best part? As you may have already guessed, it's also loaded with TFC8 and other goodies like acetyl hexapeptide-8, rosa damascena flower and hydrolyzed rice protein to not just cover up imperfections, but improve skin over time. After using it regularly for a month, I've already noticed that the delicate area under my eyes feels firmer and looks brighter.

The Results

If you don't just want to take my word for it, you can see the results of my three-step Victoria Beckham x Augustinus Bader routine above. Besides my eyeshadow, I'm not wearing any makeup beyond the two VB x AB products. So that glowy slick on my cheekbone? Not highlighter, just my skin reaping the benefits of the Rich Cream and Rejuvenating Illuminator as it catches the sun. My smooth, even-toned under-eyes? No filter, just the Concealer Pen.

While the full routine tallies in at a minimum of $246 (if you grab the smallest bottle of The Rich Cream), the products' double-duty functionality, instant improvements and long-term results make it more than worth it in my book.
