How Much Does Botox Cost? We Asked a Derm

Whether you’re ready to go to battle with the lines between your brows or you’ve made peace with your crow’s-feet, you’ve probably been curious about Botox. For those who haven’t gone under the needle, the injectable incites an equal measure of fear and fascination.

Does the poking sesh hurt more or less than a bikini wax? If you try it once, are you beholden to the procedure forever? And how much does it cost? We have questions too, which is why PureWow beauty director Jenny Jin sat down with a derm to get some answers.

First up: the price. In a recent episode of The Glow Up, NYC-based dermatologist Melissa Levin tells us Botox treatments are either charged by unit (the amount of substance administered per session) or by the area addressed (such as the forehead or around the mouth). “It can range anywhere from $300 all the way up to $1,600 depending on how much Botox we need and how many areas we treat,” she explains. So, is it worth the investment?

Watch as Jenny takes us along for her first Botox experience, from her consultation with Dr. Levin to her results two weeks after the treatment (and all her thoughts in between).
