I admit, for a gal who refuses to wear foundation, I probably don't exfoliate my face nearly as much as I should—especially my nose, where my combination skin tends to get the most backed up. Every two months or so I'll spring for a facial to get things in order (to the tune of some very painful extractions—IYKYK), but I've been meaning to find an easy, quick and affordable solution I can use to clear my pores more frequently in between—and prevent them from getting so clogged in the first place. Enter: The Bioré Bubbling Nose Masks ($18; $17).

Chances are you're familiar with Bioré's pore cleansing strips, the go-to for folks hoping to banish blackheads for nearly 30 years. But the brand recently launched an innovative twist on the classic strips, and between the playful PR packaging (complete with a bubble machine) and unique formula, the new exfoliating masks have quickly gone viral across social media. Having received one of the sneak-peek mailers myself, I've been able to test the strips a few times over the past month—and I have to say, I was hooked from the first try.

My Review of the Bioré Bubbling Nose Mask

Biore

The Bubbling Nose Masks are meant to clear away gunk while gently exfoliating and refining the pores on and around your nose, with a dual-sided design that offers a two-step treatment. On the smooth side, you've got a formula full of glycolic acid (a fruit-derived AHA) and fruit enzymes to help dissolve any buildup, and on the other, small silicone bumps that physically scrub it all away. It's a process, yes, but one that's surprisingly swift and convenient.

Of course, the main draw (and the thing that gives these nose masks their name) is the bubbling reaction that occurs when the enzyme-packed formula first hits your skin. I can attest, you can feel the fizziness picking up beneath the mask soon after application, and the experience isn't just effervescent, it's effective.

After letting the enzymes and acids do their thing for about five minutes, you simply turn the mask over and start rubbing the textured side over your nose (don't forget those little nostril-side crannies!), which really starts to create a foamy lather. Lastly, you just rinse it all off. The entire process takes about seven minutes, total.

The result? Seriously smooth (and actually clean-feeling) skin. After each application, the pores on and around my nose look smaller, and the little raised bumps that never fail to materialize after one day out in the urban air are seemingly buffed—or should I say bubbled?—away.

Yep, this is one hyped-up buy that actually gets my stamp of approval. And at just $17 for a pack of eight, it's a lot more affordable than picking up the frequency of my facials.
