Under Armour Just Released a Face Mask That's Made For Running & Working Out

We’ve all asked ourselves this question: “Do I have to wear a face mask while running?” The truth is, it’s incredibly uncomfortable and makes your workout even harder than it already is. Lucky for us, brands are coming out with new ways for us to stay in line with CDC’s guidelines, while still sticking to our outdoor fitness routines. The latest company to do so? Under Armour.

Yup, introducing the Sportsmask—a performance face mask for athletes. This reusable, water-resistant mask is designed for maximum breathability functions to reduce the spread of respiratory droplets. According to the website, the mask features a moldable nose-bridge to help keep it in place (and also prevent glasses from fogging). Not to mention, it’s machine washable and dryer safe—see ya single-use masks.

“It’s important that our customers and consumers know we have their backs,” said Kyle Blakely, vice-president of materials innovation. “It’s our responsibility at Under Armour to create the right product for the athlete. The real goal was to get something athletes could use because we wanted to be helpful and make them better.”

This isn’t the company’s first go-around when it comes to masks. In March the brand completely shifted production to manufacture of face masks, face shields and other personal protective equipment for healthcare workers who were low on supplies.

Sportmasks are now available online ($30) in the U.S. for pre-order now (shipping by July 31). And while there are limited supplies, Under Armour has promised that additional colors will be dropping this summer and fall.
