The One Place You’re Forgetting to Put Sunscreen

Eighty-five degrees, sunny, low humidity…it’s the best beach day. So you slather on sunscreen, put on your cute new bathing suit and spend the day in the sun.

Not so fast. There’s an extremely important part of your body you’ve completely overlooked. Even worse, it’s a tricky place to apply sunscreen, but burns extremely easily.

Nope, it’s not the space between your toes (although yeah, apply sunscreen between your toes, too). It’s your scalp. If the part of your hair leaves any area your scalp exposed, you’re leaving a very sensitive portion of your skin susceptible to sun damage.

The solution? Best-case scenario, wear a hat with a brim—it’ll do double duty to protect your face, too. Otherwise, invest in a spray (we love Coola Organic Scalp & Hair Mist with SPF 30) that protects your scalp and hair from harmful UV rays.
