The last thing we want to think about when we make up is cooking breakfast. That's why we've come up with this genius recipe for overnight oats. It's almost entirely hands-off, and the best part is, you can make it the night before. Who said mornings were difficult?

4 servings

1½ cups old-fashioned oats

⅓ cup light brown sugar, plus more for serving

1½ teaspoons cinnamon, plus more for serving

2 apples, peeled and diced, plus slices for serving

2½ cups water

2 cups whole milk

1. In the bowl of a slow cooker, stir together the oats, light brown sugar, cinnamon and diced apples to combine.

2. Pour 2½ cups water and the milk over the oat mixture. Set the slow cooker on low; cook for 7 to 8 hours.

3. To serve, garnish the oatmeal with apple slices, brown sugar to taste and a pinch of cinnamon.
