A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away there was a mysterious, sunny land called Florida. And in that land was a magical place known as Disney World…
If you haven't caught on, we're talking about the new Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge theme park that officially opened today at Disney's Hollywood Studios in Lake Buena Vista, Florida. For those who aren't well-versed in Wookie (shame on you), Galaxy's Edge is the latest interactive installment in the Star Wars franchise marketing itself as a fully immersive experience for visitors hoping to see where some of their favorite fictional movies took place. Per the official press release: “Batuu is a far-flung destination along the galaxy’s Outer Rim, on the frontier of Wild Space—the uncharted region beyond all known star systems. The planet is home to Black Spire Outpost, an infamous port for smugglers, traders and adventures wishing to avoid any unnecessary…entanglements with the First Order.”
In celebration of the official opening, Disney is also debuting a number of new aptly themed treats. So hop in your spaceship and gun it to light speed because these galactic goodies are only around for a limited time.
