Here’s What Serena Williams Thinks Meghan Markle Will Be Like as a Mom

Serena Williams just revealed what she really thinks of Meghan Markle’s mom potential.

The 37-year-old tennis player recently chatted with E! News about the royal baby’s fast-approaching due date. When asked if the duchess (also age 37) is up for the task, Williams didn’t hesitate with her answer.

“She’ll be the best mom, for sure,” she said.

Williams and her husband, Alexis Ohanian, welcomed their first child, a baby girl named Alexis Olympia, in September 2017. The athlete went on to encourage new moms to learn from her mistakes.

“Accept mistakes and don’t expect to be perfect,” she added. “We put so much pressure on ourselves. My friend is pregnant, and she was like, ‘My kid’s gonna do this,’ [and] I just looked at her like, ‘No, she’s not.’ … She was like, ‘I need to talk to you about tips,’ because, yes, I had all of those high expectations.”

Although Markle hasn’t announced any godparent details, we wouldn’t be surprised if Williams lands the role. Not only is she a longtime friend of Markle, but she’s also a big part of her life.

When the Duke and Duchess of Sussex announced that they’re expecting their first child back in October 2018, Williams proceeded to foot the estimated $200,000 bill for Markle’s baby shower. So yeah, they’re that close.

While we’re glad to have Serena’s thoughts, we were already pretty confident that Markle is set to be the “best mom.”
