Sarah Ferguson Shares a Special Birthday Tribute to Queen Elizabeth on Her 96th Birthday

Several members of the royal family have honored the queen on her 96th birthday. Some royal fans got a chance to see old snapshots of the monarch, taken with her great-grandchildren and even a younger Prince Charles. But, Sarah Ferguson couldn’t let the day end before she posted a special tribute on social media.

Yesterday, the Duchess of York shared a snapshot of Queen Elizabeth on Instagram. The monarch rocked a pink peacoat with a matching brim hat and accessorized the look with a pearl necklace and a floral rhinestone brooch placed right on the collar. To add a pop of color, she wore bright pink lipstick.

Ferguson wrote in the caption, “Happy Birthday Your Majesty. What an amazing day of celebrations for the most inspirational Head of State, leader, Wife, Mother, Granny, Great Granny and Mother in Law.”

Ahead of her special day, the royal family IG account shared a new portrait of Her Majesty (courtesy of the Royal Windsor Horse Show) holding the reigns of two white horses, named Bybeck Katie and Bybeck Nightingale. The photograph was taken at Windsor Castle last month.

According to People, the queen chose to celebrate her birthday in private this year. Buckingham Palace confirmed she traveled from Windsor Castle to Sandringham estate in Norfolk. Her late husband, Prince Philip, spent a lot of time at the residence, so it holds a special meaning for the queen.

What a thoughtful birthday tribute, Sarah.
