It’s that time again. The moment when Reese Witherspoon reveals the latest pick for Reese’s Book Club, and I’m already excited. For March, she’s chosen Broken Country by Clare Leslie Hall—and based on the over 500 five-star reviews on Goodreads, I’m pretty confident this one’s going to be a page-turner (as most of her picks tend to be) and Reese’s reaction to the book only confirmed it.

As usual, the Legally Blonde star took to social media to share her thoughts. She posted a photo of herself holding up the book, which features a cozy farm home set against a sprawling landscape.

“The March @reesesbookclub pick is here, and you’re going to LOSE YOUR CHICKEN over it,” she captioned the post. “Broken Country by @clarelesliehall is a gripping mix of thrilling murder mystery, and a once-in-a-lifetime chance to relive your truest love story all over again… plus, that ending?! I did NOT see it coming!”

But it was the second slide in Reese’s post that really sold me on the book. Don't worry, no spoilers here.

“You think you have it together, but then you are going to lose your chicken when you read this book,” she said with excitement. “This book is so good.”

Reese then set the scene: "There's this young couple in the 1950s in Dorset, England. The daughter of the sheep farmers falls in love with the rich boy in the fancy house…" She paused, before adding the real twist. “There’s a murder!”

“And you don’t know who it is until the very end,” she continued, slapping the book against her head. “And it’s shocking—you cannot believe the ending. I totally didn’t guess it.”

With a review like that, I’m officially sold. And from the comments on Reese’s post, it seems like I’m not the only one.

One person wrote, “Ooh, this one sounds so good!!” Another added, “Love this, can’t wait to read.” A third even shared that they already placed a hold at their library, sharing, “I’ve placed my hold, I’m hearing good things about this one!”

Looks like Broken Country is going to be a hit.
