Queen Camilla Wore a Brooch Previously Belonging to Queen Elizabeth for Her Last Day in France

King Charles III, 74, and Queen Camilla, 76, recently wrapped their trip across France, where they visited an eco-friendly vineyard, had a special dinner at the Palace of Versailles and so much more. All the while, the queen consort pulled out some special pieces of bling.

During their state visit, we couldn't help but notice Camilla’s nods to her late mother-in-law, Queen Elizabeth II, with a few of her jewelry choices. Most notably, she spent her final day in France wearing a diamond brooch that used to belong to the monarch.

For the final day of their French excursion, Queen Camilla sported a baby blue-colored coat dress, which she accessorized with a silver rectangular brooch.

This Art Deco brooch, which the queen consort has sported on a number of occasions, was pulled from Queen Elizabeth’s collection. At least, that’s what the official Royal Ascot Twitter (now X) account wrote when the royal wore the same brooch to the Royal Ascot in June. (And it ended up being a lucky choice for Camilla, because her horse, Desert Hero, came in first in the King George V Stakes.)

According to jewelry experts at Steven Stone, it is estimated that this brooch costs around $250,000.

Not only did Queen Camilla wear it for this France trip and the Royal Ascot, but she also donned the same accessory during a Christmas event at Sandringham in December 2022.

Royal Magazin posits that this may be the Kent Diamond brooch, which was originally a wedding gift that Queen Mary gave to her daughter in law, Princess Marina of Greece, Duchess of Kent, in 1934 (and was then sold to the British royal family). However, if this is the case, then the brooch has been modified over the years, because it used to feature a diamond bow that was laid diagonally across it.
