Priyanka Chopra Gets Candid About Removing ‘Jonas’ From Her Instagram (& the Scrutiny She Receives)

Remember when Priyanka Chopra caused an uproar last year when she removed her husband’s last name (Jonas) from her Instagram page? Well, the Quantico alum, 39, is finally speaking out about it.

Chopra appeared on the cover of Vanity Fair’s February issue, where she addressed the incident in a candid interview. After confirming that her marriage with Nick Jonas was never in jeopardy, she explained that fans often dissect her every move on social media and search for hidden clues that don’t exist.

“It’s a very vulnerable feeling, actually, that if I post a picture, everything that’s behind me in that picture is going to be zoomed in on, and people are going to speculate," Chopra told the outlet. “It’s just a professional hazard. Because of the noise of our social media, because of the prevalence that it has in our lives, I think it seems a lot larger than it is. I think that we give it a lot more credence in real life, and I don’t think it needs that.”

Chopra also addressed the criticism she faced after the premiere of The Activist, which received backlash due to its competitive format. “It’s really tragic when something like that happens because that is never the intention,” she added. “It makes me sad because I try to live my life as a good person every day, doing the best I can, just like everyone else. And it would just be nice to be seen for that sometimes.”

We hear you loud and clear, Priyanka.
