There Was a Special Princess Diana Tribute Hidden in Baby Sussex’s Birth Announcement

While the world places their final bets on Baby Sussex’s name, we can’t get over the subtle Princess Diana nod that was included in the birth announcement.

It all started earlier today when the royal family shared a photo on Instagram and revealed that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle welcomed a baby boy. Although the post confirmed that Queen Elizabeth, Prince Charles, Camilla Parker Bowles, Prince William and Kate Middleton were all informed of the child’s arrival, we couldn’t help but notice that Princess Diana’s three siblings—Lady Jane Fellowes, Lady Sarah McCorquodale and Earl John Spencer—were also included in the statement.

It read, “The Queen, The Duke of Edinburgh, The Prince of Wales, The Duchess of Cornwall, The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Lady Jane Fellowes, Lady Sarah McCorquodale and Earl John Spencer have been informed and are delighted with the news.”

The statement also confirmed that Markle’s mom, Doria Ragland, is thrilled about the baby’s arrival, adding, “The Duchess’s mother, Doria Ragland, who is overjoyed by the arrival of her first grandchild, is with Their Royal Highnesses at Frogmore Cottage. Her Royal Highness and the baby are both doing well.”

This morning, the 37-year-old duchess gave birth to a healthy baby boy. Unfortunately, not much is known about the location of the delivery. (There have been rumors that Markle would either have a home birth or deliver at Frimley Park Hospital in Surrey County, which is a 30-minute drive away from their new home at Frogmore Cottage in Berkshire, England.)

Either way, we have no doubt that Princess Di is beaming with pride.
