Queen Elizabeth Reacts to the Birth of Prince Harry & Meghan Markle’s Son

ICYMI: Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s first child is finally here. So, how does Queen Elizabeth feel about welcoming another great-grandchild?

Shortly after announcing the arrival of Baby Sussex, the royal family posted a photo on Instagram and confirmed the 93-year-old monarch is aware and “delighted with the news.”

The pic features a statement declaring the baby boy’s arrival, who weighed in at 7 pounds, 3 ounces. The announcement goes on to list members of the royal family who were informed of the birth, including Queen Elizabeth, Prince Charles, Camilla Parker Bowles, Prince William and Kate Middleton.

The statement also confirms that Markle’s mom, Doria Ragland, is thrilled about Baby Sussex’s entrance into the world, adding, “The Duchess’s mother, Doria Ragland, who is overjoyed by the arrival of her first grandchild, is with Their Royal Highnesses at Frogmore Cottage. Her Royal Highness and the baby are both doing well.”

Earlier this morning, Buckingham Palace announced that the 37-year-old duchess gave birth to a healthy baby boy. Unfortunately, not much is known about the location of the delivery. (There have been rumors that Markle would either have a home birth or deliver at Frimley Park Hospital in Surrey County, which is a 30-minute drive away from their new home at Frogmore Cottage in Berkshire, England.)
