Go team, go

You know the saying "stars, they're just like us"? Well, Prince William just proved it once again with his latest antics. The Prince of Wales recently showed that he's just as passionate about his favorite soccer team as any die-hard fan and I can’t help but love it.

On March 12, Aston Villa secured a win against Belgium's Club Brugge and Prince William’s excitement was impossible to miss. The royal was spotted in the stands, surrounded by friends, proudly sporting a team scarf as he cheered on his beloved team.

In one photo, he's flashing the ultimate dad gesture—a double thumbs-up. And in another, he’s caught mid-scream during the team’s first goal celebration. It’s safe to say, the royal and father-of-three was having the time of his life.

Ahead of the game, the Prince of Wales took to Instagram to share a behind-the-scenes glimpse of his visit with the team.

"Great to pop in to see @avfcofficial yesterday ahead of tonight’s Champions League game! Up the Villa! #utv," he captioned a post that included shots of him chatting with players and even sharing a hug or two.

Thanks to their win, Aston Villa is now heading to Paris next month for the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals, where they'll face Paris Saint Germain. And, yes, you guessed it—Prince William plans to be there. According to Hello!, as he left Tuesday’s game, he told journalists, "See you in Paris."

Looks like there will be plenty more of the royal cheering on his team in the future—and perhaps next time his children will be there to see his dad moves in person. Prince William is certainly passing his love for sports down to his kids.

In fact, just last year, his daughter Princess Charlotte, 9, was photographed at Wimbledon, hands on her cheeks in a worried expression. Sound familiar? It’s the same gesture her dad made while watching the EURO quarterfinals that same day. Like father, like daughter—guess the royal sports fandom is a family affair.
