Prince William’s Surprise Sunday Night Appearance Is One We Should’ve Seen Coming

Prince William just stepped out for a not-so-surprising surprise appearance.

Last night, the Duke of Cambridge, 40, attended the women’s Euro 2022 football final at Wembley Stadium, where he saw England’s national team, The Lionesses, defeat Germany. After the game, the royal celebrated with the athletes on the field and posted a slideshow of photos on the Instagram page he shares with his wife, Kate Middleton.

The caption read, “Sensational. An incredible win @lionesses and the whole nation couldn’t be prouder of you all. Wonderful to see history in the making tonight at Wembley, congratulations!” He even used his personal sign-off: “W.”

Prince William’s unannounced attendance shouldn’t come as a huge surprise to royal aficionados. Not only has he been posting about The Lionesses on social media, but he also serves as the President of the Football Association (FA) in England. While his attendance should have been somewhat expected, we also didn’t know who he’d bring with him. Unfortunately, he left his wife and three kids—Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis—at home.

Still, that didn’t stop him from sharing a pre-game video featuring himself and his daughter, Princess Charlotte, showing their support for The Lionesses.

Prince William said, “We both want to wish the Lionesses the best of luck for tonight. You’ve done amazingly well in the competition and we’re rooting for you all the way.” Princess Charlotte added, “Good luck. I hope you win. Bye.” She even did her signature move.

We really should’ve seen this coming.
