It doesn't lie

Prince William is always in his element when it comes to sports. If you recall, the royal was full of energy when he played rugby in South Africa last year, and when he attended the UEFA Champions League to support Aston Villa, he couldn't contain his enthusiasm. Once again, the prince is ditching his usual polished composure to showcase his soccer skills, and his body language says it all.

This week, Prince William made a surprise visit to Scotland and stopped by the Leith Community Centre to mark the launch of Leith United, a new social enterprise that unites Street Soccer Scotland, YMCA Edinburgh and Leith Community Centre to "deliver health, wellbeing and social connection for thousands of residents," per his official Instagram account.

The prince, who also goes by the Duke of Rothesay in Scotland, shared a few highlights from the visit, and from a non-verbal perspective, he comes across as extremely confident, sporting genuine smiles and laughing often.

For example, the prince was all smiles as he shared a joke with Street Soccer Scotland founder and CEO David Duke at the center's gym. He looks very relaxed and happy, indicating that he's genuinely enjoying his time there.

In addition, I noticed a lot of open-palm gestures as he maintained eye contact with staff members. He rarely had his hands folded or arms crossed, which shows he was fully engaged and genuinely cares about the cause.

The Prince of Wales was especially energetic when he joined the kids for a soccer game—and not surprisingly, he had an extra button on his shirt undone, which revealed his comfort level.

On IG, the prince shared footage of the match in a fun montage and detailed how the center can help build stronger communities.

The caption reads, "At Leith Community Centre, the beautiful game is being used to tackle some of society’s toughest challenges. Street Soccer Scotland is joining forces with local partners through Leith United, a new social enterprise launched with support from The Royal Foundation’s Community Impact Programme."

"From facing homelessness to finding hope on the pitch, these football sessions are changing lives and building stronger, more connected communities."
