It was only a matter of time before Hollywood capitalized on Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s split from the royal family…and that time has clearly arrived.
Lifetime is currently developing a movie about the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s highly publicized exit, according to Deadline. The project is still in the very early stages, which means the working title—Harry & Meghan: Escaping the Palace—is bound to change. Phew!
The film will follow Prince Harry and Markle’s life after the birth of their first son, Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor, and will highlight major events that led to the couple’s decision to resign from their royal roles. Although the Sussex family originally relocated to Canada after the announcement, they have since settled down in Los Angeles. (So yes, their future child could potentially become President of the United States.)
Scarlett Lacey (A Year Ago in Winter) will write the script for Harry & Meghan: Escaping the Palace. Merideth Finn (My Sister’s Keeper) and Michele Weiss (He’s Just Not That Into You) will serve as executive producers.
