Kate Middleton and Prince William's middle child, Princess Charlotte, is celebrating her seventh birthday today, May 2. And to mark the occasion, the couple shared rare portraits of their daughter to Instagram (which were snapped by the Duchess of Cambridge, of course). But now, another member of the royal family is using their social media to honor the birthday girl.

Princess Charlotte's paternal grandfather, Prince Charles, also made a special tribute to his granddaughter. On the Clarence House Instagram account, which he shares with his wife, Camilla Parker Bowles, the Prince of Wales reposted the slideshow of Princess Charlotte's birthday portraits. Above the link to the photos, he wrote, “Happy Birthday to Princess Charlotte - 7 years today!” The caption also included a party popper emoji.

The reposted photo shows the 7-year-old seated in a field of flowers while snuggling up with her family's English Cocker Spaniel. While giving a wide smile (and showing off the loss of a few baby teeth), Princess Charlotte sports a blue knit sweater with a polka dot Peter Pan collar underneath.

Her grandfather wasn't the only one who reposted these great portraits. One of Middleton's snaps was also uploaded to the official royal family Instagram account, where they said, “Happy 7th Birthday Princess Charlotte!”

While tagging the Duchess of Cambridge, this post also revealed when and where the portraits were taken, as they wrote, “Taken this weekend in Norfolk.”

All we know is that we couldn't take photos that were nearly as good.
