Prince Charles Teams Up with Amazon Prime for Brand-New TV Project

Move over, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle! The pair are no longer the only royals with a major streaming service deal, because Prince Charles is following suit with an exciting new partnership of his own.

The Prince of Wales has partnered up with Amazon Prime Video to launch a brand-new channel, which will allow his RE:TV environment programming to reach even more viewers.

Curated by Prince Charles, who serves as the editor-in-chief, RE:TV aims to highlight ideas that lead to a more sustainable future. In a statement obtained by Yahoo, the royal explained, "I’ve spent a lot my lifetime trying to engage people and businesses with the issues and solutions of the climate crisis. RE:TV was therefore set up with the aim of capturing the will and imagination of humanity and champion the most inspiring solutions for sustainability from around the world."

The new channel will tackle green issues, and its programs will include Recycling Everything, which centers on TerraCycle's mission to recycle hard-to-reuse materials, Remapping Restoration, which offers a deeper look at the data-sharing environment platform Restor and Refuelling Aviation, which highlights LanzaTech's efforts to develop sustainable aviation fuel. And according to Insider, 20 episodes from this new initiative will be available to stream globally on Sunday.

A spokesperson for RE:TV reportedly said in the press release that, "Covering a huge range of innovation from recycling coffee to reseeding rainforests, the films highlight projects from across the world working on brilliant initiatives that can help transform how business is done, helping us make a cleaner and more sustainable economy."

Given Prince Charles's passion for environmental issues, the new partnership comes as no surprise. Only a few weeks ago, he penned a striking essay about the effects of climate change. And back in January, he urged several businesses to sign his Terra Carta pledge to help make the planet more sustainable by 2030. He said in a statement at the time, "If we consider the legacy of our generation, more than 800 years ago, Magna Carta inspired a belief in the fundamental rights and liberties of people. As we strive to imagine the next 800 years of human progress, the fundamental rights and value of nature must represent a step-change in our ‘future of industry’ and ‘future of economy’ approach.”

The royal is already making waves when it comes to raising awareness about these issues, and it looks like he's not stopping any time soon. As Prince Charles said in the new release, "I hope that with this partnership with Prime Video we can bring these inspiring innovations and ideas to a wider audience and demonstrate together what is possible in the pursuit of a sustainable future."

We're right there with you, Prince Charles.
