You may remember the dad who went viral this year when he morphed his three-year-old daughter into the all-powerful Wonder Woman. Well, Josh Rossi, a commercial photographer based in Utah is at it again—this time, turning six kids with disabilities into members of the Justice League to celebrate their courage, bravery and superhero qualities as they face off against a variety of diseases and medical issues.
The whole concept came to fruition after the photo shoot with his daughter, when parents with sick children started contacting him and asking if he could do the same thing for their kids. With help from his wife—and a Utah-based costume designer—Josh found six kids to pose as Batman, Aquaman, Wonder Woman, Superman, Cyborg and Flash. And they all have a direct connection to their superhero alter ego.
For example, Teagan (age 9) is waiting for a heart transplant. His character Superman has a heart that weakens if he gets anywhere close to kryptonite. A natural fit. Kayden (age 5) was recently diagnosed with omphalocele, a birth defect in which internal organs remain outside the body. Josh cast him Cyborg.
He even found the perfect person to pass his daughter’s Wonder Woman costume on to: Sophie (age 3) has embryonal rhabdomyoscaroma, a soft tissue disorder that can affect children in their first five years of life.
