Bring on the animated films!

The 92nd annual Academy Awards took place tonight at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, and Toy Story 4 took home the Oscar for Best Animated Feature.

Other nominees included How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World, I Lost My Body, Klaus and Missing Link. Toy Story 4 received two nominations this year, including this category and Best Original Song for “I Can’t Let You Throw Yourself Away.” This was the only nod for all four of the other animated films.

During last year’s ceremony, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse won the highly coveted award for Best Animated Feature. The film beat out Incredibles 2, Isle of Dogs, Mirai and Ralph Breaks the Internet.

While the Best Animated Feature category might seem self-explanatory, it’s not. In fact, there are several requirements that a movie has to meet in order to qualify for the award. Not only does it need to use a frame-by-frame technique, but it also needs to feature animated figures in at least 75 percent of the film.

Toy Story 4 is joining a slew of previous winners, including Spider-Man, Coco, Zootopia, Inside Out, Big Hero 6, Frozen, Brave, Rango and Toy Story 3.

Congrats!
