Disneyland Is Throwing a Halloween Rager—Here’s How to Get Tickets

Once trick-or-treating became inappropriate, Halloween seemed to lose some of its allure. But Disney is on a mission to make Halloween super exciting again thanks to one trusty tool: alcohol.

That’s right. The House of Mouse is throwing a series of Halloweenthemed events at Disney California Adventure starting in September—and they’re catered to adults. It’s called Oogie Boogie Bash and it’s so much better than passing out candy.

The Nighmare Before Christmas themed event includes not only libations but also rides and characters like Oogie Boogie and his ghoulish villain friends. Did we mention there’s food?

Carthay Circle, the upscale California Adventure restaurant, will be transformed into a nightmarish wonderland complete with Malificent vines and an immersive haunted house experience. They’ll serve spooky on-theme meals, as well.

To accommodate all the Monster Mashers, Disney is selling alcohol openly throughout the event. This is totally out of the norm for Disneyland, a wholesome center of family fun. But food and drink aren’t the only selling points. There’s also adult trick-or-treating, a Descendants-inspired DescenDANCE Party, a “World of Color” show, a Frightfully Fun Parade and a spooky update of the Redwood Creek Challenge Trail.

As expected, Oogie Boogie Bash will run for a limited time only, from September 17 through October 31. The event requires special admission (not just a Disneyland or California Adventure ticket). Tickets cost between $110 and $145, depending on what day you go on, and can be purchased on Disneyland.com.

We’ll see you there.
