Calling All Teachers: Norwegian Cruise Line Wants to Give You a Free Vacation

norwegian cruises giving free trips to teachers

Let's be honest, being a teacher is not an easy job. Sure they get summers off, but after spending eight-plus hours a day looking after kids for nine months, we say they definitely deserve it. And Norwegian Cruise Line agrees, which is why it's honoring Teacher Appreciation Week (May 6 through May 10) by giving away free vacations to hard working educators.

Now through April 12, friends, family, students or even teachers themselves can nominate an educator and explain why they deserve to win an all-expenses-paid cruise. Once someone has been nominated, they can start campaigning for votes via Norwegian's website or by sharing on social media. After the contest had ended, the top 15 finalists will be awarded a relaxing seven-day boat trip for two, as well as airfare and accommodations to attend an award ceremony in Seattle, WA, where one ultimate winner will receive $15,000 for their school.

A full week of no students, no papers and no helicopter parents plus all the sun, food and wine you could ever want? It might just make spending all those Friday nights grading exams instead of hanging with friends worth it.
